DAN DONLEVIE

Dan Donlevie, founder of BeLife, has been a trainer and coach for more than eighteen years.  He is well schooled in the physiology and biomechanics of the body. His individualized plans are grounded in proven science and he has great intuition regarding individuals’ strengths and weaknesses.

Dan believes firmly in a holistic approach to gaining fitness and upping performance.  His approach includes gauging the right work intensity; selecting the most effective exercises for you; tracking proper rest; committing to sound nutrition.

His own experiences have deepened his insights into health issues. In 2012, Dan discovered he has Type 1 Diabetes.  Addressing his own challenges has made him well versed in managing metabolic issues and his intimate understanding helps him help others with metabolic disorders.  Dan also faced the test of regaining physical strength and capabilities post traumatic injuries.  He understands making a “comeback.”

A competitor as well as a coach, Dan has completed 85 endurance events including twelve Ironman Triathlons and two Ultra Marathons.

STRENGTH TRAINING

Individual training sessions designed to develop appropriate power, strength, speed, flexibly, stability and over-all conditioning.  Your training needs change throughout the season through different phases of conditioning and in the off-season.  Each session is tailored to your current needs.  Evaluations are done throughout your training program to target your evolving needs.

 

COACHING

This is a personalized on-line coaching plan for endurance running, endurance cycling and triathlons.  The science behind the detailed plan helps you avoid the common mistakes made by athletes at all levels.  There is enough stress in training.  Your plan allows you to shut off your brain, relax your mind with gained confidence, and put trust in an authority to guide you through the process.

Coaching plans include: establishing goals and key metrics, daily-posted workouts, on-going access to your coach, nutritional guidance, race day prep and post race recovery plan.

The Purist Ride is in-door cycling reimagined.  This is a cycling plan that will sharpen your competitive road cycling skills and race results.  Cycling is too significant portion of the time of an endurance event not to make your rides more efficient and effort more effective. 

Belife Purist™ is an 8-week metric based training plan that progressively builds strength, power and overall endurance.  It centers on core principles of serious cycling. Every class builds on the previous and prepares the mind and body for the next.  

We use your bike in Belife Fitness ™ trainers to have as close to the road experience while optimizing form and skills in a safe format.

Nutrition is a serious player in achieving performance excellence.  Every athlete’s nutritional needs are different.  Sweat rates are different.  Nutrient absorption is different.  Metabolic needs are different.  Food sensitivities and allergies are different.  And all of this applies to the competitive athlete as well as to the rest of us.

We help you understand and optimize your ratio of muscle to body fat.  We address specific nutritional requirements, both for daily living and during training.  On race day this will dramatically impact how you feel, perform and recover.
